Other SX2 mini mills, including all Micro-Mark 84630 mills, require new bearings. SX2 Mills with an R8 spindle require one each of these two bearings. SX2 mills with an 3MT spindle require two of these bearings.

The lower spindle comes out easily with a rubber mallet and a pair of snap ring pliers, but the spindle itself is SNUG. I used some conduit couplings, a 1/4" steel plate with a 1/2" drilled hole in it, some 1/2" threaded rod, some washers and two nuts.
